The Society may award the L.J.H. Teakle Award annually to a financial member of the Australian Society of Soil Science Inc. for outstanding effort in promoting and raising the awareness of soil science in Australia via activity with the ASSSI and the wider community.
Award Conditions
6.6 L.J.H. Teakle Award
6.6.1. The Award shall be called the “L.J.H. Teakle Award” and be awarded for outstanding effort in promoting and raising the awareness of soil science in Australia via activity with the ASSSI and the wider community.
6.6.2 The Society may award the L.J.H. Teakle Award annually to a financial member of the Australian Society of Soil Science Inc. for outstanding effort in promoting and raising the awareness of soil science in Australia via activity with the ASSSI and the wider community.
6.6.3 Nomination of a candidate for the award requires a nominator, seconder and must be signed by the president of the nominee's Branch of ASSSI. Documents supporting the nomination must not be longer than 1000 words.
6.6.4 In the event that the Awarding Committee considers no outstanding application is received there will be no award that year.
6.6.5 Nominations shall be judged by an Awarding Committee of three members appointed by Federal Council from separate Branches. Each member shall in turn act as Chair who shall retire after an Award is made. Federal Council shall appoint new members as may be required to maintain a Committee of three.
6.6.6 Members of the awarding committee cannot nominate or support a candidate and are ineligible for the award during their term of office.
6.6.7 The committee may be disbanded and reconstituted by the Federal Council at any time.
6.6.8 Nominations must be submitted electronically to the Federal Secretary and copied to the ASSSI federal office before May 31 each year.
6.6.9 The decision of the Awarding Committee, which shall be final, shall be forwarded to the Federal Secretary before October 31 each year.
6.6.10 Unsuccessful nominations can be renominated in the following year.
